Passport Required

In a few mere hours, I will be venturing back east and to the South. It's a whole new world, and I wish it was required to have your passport stamped east of the Mississippi. This 34 hour drive might be a tad hellish, but I have some wonderful company so it shouldn't kill me. When in the world are we going to figure out how the hell to teleport. Really people, it is 2007! One giant trip for Lil J, one small step for mankind. More to come, ya'll.

"And the spilt milk, sex, and weight...

Everything will fall, fall right into place."

So that's what I am counting on...which is typical Jamina behavior, by the way. Some how I know, where I want to go, what I want to do, but in the mean time I am moving out of my apartment and "plan" on being homeless, again. These aren't good plans, I'm starting to think. I'm already regretting that I would sleep on the wood floor of the "almost old" apartment and feel like the Princess and the Pea. Unfortunately, there is no pea to wake me up in the morning and turn my life into a dreamworld. Ambien is my new best friend, and Zoloft is a close second...just kidding! No really. And I've been told numerous times in the past week, that I have no other option but to move to Canada, or another goddamn place with universal health care. Thank you Michael Moore. Which, by the way, how do you become a Canadian citizen? You can marry in, but who wants a Canadian, eh? Can't I just sing "Oh, Canada!", while wearing "Bush is a death eater" T-shirt,in front of an audience and be inducted in that way?

So for now it's back to Phoenix *gag* and hopefully be accepted into grad school, and move to a different state, and become a successful biologist, and study cephalopods, and travel the world, telling all of my knowledge.

"In the motions and the things that you say, it all will fall, fall right into place."

So you like sushi??

So i'm sick of people saying how they are vegetarians when they eat fish. And the main reason is because they eat sushi. Well, you know what? I've been there. I was pescatarian for a year and it's a pretty nice transition. But screw you, vegetarians consist of only vegetables, fruit, carbs, etc. If you eat fish then you are not vegetarian. You know what, fish are animals! And I'm sick of people saying how they love sushi soooo much and just can't give it up. Well, yeah, it is the best god damn thing out there. But how can you honestly eat salmon, knowing that it is causing damage to other naitve fish in the farming areas? Guess what people...it's really not that hard to stop eating fish. I do it all the time. I wouldn't give up sushi for anything. It's a style of cooking, not just eating raw fish. I determine the BEST sushi places by what they offer for the veggie eaters. It's ok to eat vegetables. Fish aren't that impressive. If you don't believe me...go to a fish market at 6pm...it'll change your mind.

And when I say aren't that impressive, I mean tastey. Fish are so amazing. So if you can eat them, then go! Be gone! They have so many adaptations it is unbelieveable. To eat something so unique should be outlawed. So you know what I say...you do what you can do. If you can stop eating meat, and still eat fish, great. But don't claim to be vegetarian. That's all I ask.

So I guess after this rant, picketting isn't so much a big deal. But more to come on the circus debacle. Why are we so egotistical? Animals need a voice, and I am that man. Listen!

Preening the Antennae

"I'm sitting by the river, my feet in dipping in and out of the icy water. The sound of water rushing puts me at ease and my soul feels at peace. It's been far too long since the last time. As I sit here thinking, a fly, disguised as a wasp, lands on my knee. And this little diptera makes me look inside myself. Am I playcating myself like this fly? So I have a deceiving outward appearance for what lays inside?

Now I'm amused by these tadpoles, fighting the slight currents by the shore. I can barely see the limb buds poking out. I realize that we are all the same and I think out loud, "Don't worry little guy, things will change and life will get a tad easier." I need to take my own advice. Nature's advice.

Cottonwood fluff floats around me, making me feel like a tiny fixture in a snowglobe after some rotten kid has given it a nasty shake. So beautiful, but it will settle.

Oh how the water calms my soul, and staightens my head on my shoulders. If it wasn't for these minor adjustents every so often, I would be misled."

So Proud

Have you ever just done something that you are extremely proud of? Of course, everyone has. But many times other people are just as proud of what you did. But sometimes humbling pride is the best reward. When you do something so courageous, so non-vanilla, stepping outside your comfort zone, yet still managing to pull the task off; but only you know the fears that you had to fight. Usually it's that inner devil's advocate that wins out leaving you cowarding in the corner. Well not this time. I am so proud of myself, and nobody knows what for, except me, and I'm going to keep it that way.
